Family policy in France

This article shows that France has a long-standing and ‘explicit’ family policy that is overseen by government institutions and family issues are addressed in many areas of public action. The large range of policies and national schemes in favour of the work/life balance enables a better understanding of differences in mothers’ labour force participation between European countries.
