Activities
The main aim is to inform, engage, coordinate, develop and disseminate the contribution of men from an independent perspective in the overall discussion on gender and equality. We use different strategies:
- Internal discussions among professionals belonging to the network with different thematic backgrounds, approaches and practical experiences, in order to develop positions and perspectives
- External discussions at public events
- Support for ongoing or emerging activities within civil society with relevance to gender equality
- Hosting an internet-based information platform with all events, contact details of the different thematic professionals at the Forum Männer network, downloads of conferences, documentation and other relevant publications.
Conferences
Twice a year the Forum Männer organises conferences with different thematic topics in relation to theory, research, practice, policy and experience. The Forum also hosts single events (eg. information events, panel discussions, lectures or workshops) on current issues. The following thematic topics have been the subject of conferences or publications of the ForumMänner (in alphabetic order): boys, conflict, diverse masculinities, education, fathers and fatherhood, gender, gender dialogue, gender mainstreaming, health, men and work, men as victims, men and women's jobs, migration, the military, policy, sexuality, unemployment, violence and war.
