Activity of Genderwerkstätte - Gender Lab
Aims and objectives
GenderWerkstätte is the result of cooperation between the Women's Service and Men´s Counselling Centre Graz, established in 2001. Employees of the two organisations and freelance experts work together in this network. GenderWerkstätte is not a registered organisation itself, but a network with a democratically developed set of regulations. The two organisations, Frauenservice and Männerberatung, provide basic resources for the network. e.g. the website is hosted by Frauenservice. GenderLab is an innovative "laboratory" for the development of perspectives, concepts and education on gender policies. GenderLab provides workshops, seminars, training courses; gender analyses and research; support for the implementation of gender mainstreaming in organisations; national and international projects.

One of the most important activities is the "Gender Competence and Gender Mainstreaming" curriculum, consisting of 5 modules (gender awareness; organisational analysis; diversity; organisational development; transfer into practice). We have provided this curriculum each year for six years: http://www.genderwerkstaette.at/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&i...
GenderWerkstätte runs a discussion forum twice a year that is open to interested cooperation partners. This forum is called "Open GenderLab" and gives interested parties an opportunity to connect with other actors in the field.
For material that has been developed within various projects, see: http://www.genderwerkstaette.at/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&i.... There is an extensive collection of materials, listed under each project headline.

Probably the most important project in recent years (2006-2008) was the Sokrates/Grundtvig international project "GEMTREX": www.gemtrex.eu. Within this project, relevant material (standards, compendium) have been developed within an international consortium:
