The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Bulgaria (KNSB/CITUB) was formed in 1990 out of the Central Council of Trade Union. The reported number of members is 390 000 people. It is affiliated with ITUC (International Trade Union Confederation) and ETUC (European Trade Union Confederation. The highest governing body is the Congress. Each five years the Congress of the Confederation points out the governing bodies, the program and the monitoring bodies. The executive structure is names Executive Committee leading by President and Deputy Presidents. There is a scientific institute for trade union and social studies. The Confederation joints 35 federations, trade union organizations.
