Services to children and families. Social development.Impact of HOLT Programs in Romanian.Documentation of outcomes
The objective of the research was to determine the impact of the Holt services on children in Romania. Five complex services have been identified: abandonment prevention, shelter for mother and child, family reintegration, foster care, and domestic adoption. The information colected from the beneficiaries was supplemented with information from staff and key actors within the comunity. The research revealed that services for children were positively evaluated and highly effective in terms of keeping the children in families and preventing institutionalization, the family-based alternatives bringing many long-term benefits to children.
