Indicators on Gender Equality in the European Employment Strategy

This report provides an assessment of the indicators used to monitor gender equality in the European employment strategy and suggests both ways in which the indicators can be improved and the inclusion of new and additional indicators. It covers the main employment areas where there is a need for monitoring of gender gaps. Ch.1 looks at indicators of gender equality in employment and unemployment; Ch.2 gender segregation; Ch.3 pay and income differentials and Ch.4 indicators related to parenting or the reconciliation of work and family The appendix provides for each member state an assessment of the level and trends in gender equality.
