The report analysis the parental leave take up of Luxembourg’ s mothers and fathers based on longitudinal behavioral data. The first part describes the patterns of parental leave take up among parents residing in Luxembourg of a single child born in the country between 1999 and 2007. It also shows how selected individual, partner’s and couple’s characteristics affect the fact that a parent (mothers and fathers separately) takes or does not take parental leave. The second part of the report examines the impact of the introduction of parental leaves on the labor market engagement of mothers of a single child.
