On the image of women and feminists in Hungarian antifeminist books
A hazai antifeminista könyvek nő- és feministaképéről
The journal article discusses three Hungarian antifeminist books from the point of view of their view of feminists, their antifeminist frame of thinking and the ideal feminine image propagated by the authors. This issue is especially intriguing as feminism itself has not become an influential frame of thinking in Hungary, yet antifeminist literature has propped up “in defense”. These antifeminist texts reflect a highly prejudiced attitude, although, intriguingly, the female authors sense some of the social inequalities between genders and yet take a decidedly antifeminist stance to them.
