Training
A half-day women’s training event on issues affecting women such as equal pay, harassment and bullying. The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) provides multiple 1/2 to 2 day trainings (see link) on various topics that empower its members. In 2012 it was found necessary to add a training on women's rights in the media. This training will not be provided in 2013.

Funding body
Internal funding/regular budget of the organisation Support from TU federations
Aims and objectives
- To provide women working in the media access to information about their (equal) rights
Results and impact
There was no official evaluation of the training. The NUJ found it difficult to challenge sexism, harassment and discrimination in the media through the legal channels due to their resource-intensive and expensive process, but also because it can make people feel very isolated. Where possible, the NUJ believes that bringing people together in a traditional, trade union collective is an effective way to raise issues about women’s representation but also in terms of identifying patterns of behaviour or bullying at work.
