Aims and objectives
An EU co-funded project (VS/2007/0442) sought to identify further capacity building needs for the actual implementaion of gender mainstreaming in all government depts and in the national policymaking programmes.
Results and impact
Public officers were sensitised on gender equality and provided further information and knowledge on gender mainstreaming
National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE)
Various training sessions and seminars were carried out with managers and other employees in the public sector and with staff of Ministries and those in decision making positions giving a detailed overview of what is the principle of gender mainstreaming, why gender mainstreaming is important at the workplace, and how to implement it through various gender mainstreaming tools that were created as part of this project i.e. Electronic newsletter, manuals and research.
