Supporting (financially or otherwise) surveys on equality in the media sector
Data from the Union's members are collected and analysed/compared on women working in the media. The results are dissiminated widely and contain assertions such as 'too little' and 'unequal'. Based on the available information an 'equality check' can be made to assess whether women and men are paid equally in relation to their position and role. The results of the study have been disseminated in the media.
Aims and objectives
- To assess the degree of equality between women and men working in the media in terms of salary and function
Results and impact
In 2012 it was noted that women still get 5% less salary.
