In the Reunion Island over a 5 women (21.5%) experienced at least one form of violence in a public space. If verbal attacks in public spaces are a little less frequent than on the mainland, the sexual harassment, physical assault and sexual especially in public space are more frequent, indicating a more public space to the gender meeting. Domestic violence is a bit higher in the Isle than on the mainland. In Reunion the overall index of domestic violence was 15% against 9% in
metropolis.
