Study population
50 migrants - men and women - from Egypt, Nigeria and Ghana interviewed, the age ranged between 20 and 50 years.
Prevalence data on FGM
Both Muslims (59%) and Christians (35%) advocate and practice FGM. Although most respondents knew that FGM is painful, 76% do not want to break it. 75% of African immigrants in Austria are in favor of ritual circumcision, 35% of their daughters are circumcised.
Disaggregated data per country of origin
88% of the interventions took place in Africa.
