Social and personal development of young people still attending secondary school. Lessons target specific issues that concern social and personal life e.g. personal relations, domestic violence, etc.
Aims and objectives
The main objective of this hotline is that people in particular children, being abused directly or indirectly over the internet will have a point of reference to turn to for support. The Maltese hotline will carry out the screening and analysis of reports while the Maltese Cyber Crime Unit will carry investigations of the referrals sent by the hotline.
The objective of Helpline 116 123 is to offer emotional support to callers suffering from loneliness, those who find themselves in a state of psychological crises, and those who require emotional support due to various life situations they might be encountering. The service is available to all local and foreign citizens in Malta. The aim is to have one international number as directed by the European Commission, recognisable in all EU member states, available for all European citizens.
Results and impact
Agenzija Appogg has been operating Malta’s national helpline, Supportline 179, within Agenzija Appogg, for the
last ten years. This time span has definitely helped in eliminating any trust barriers between the general public
and the service.
