Quality assurance process
Accuracy
Good. Accuracy is good when it comes to numbers of women contacting or living in a shelter belonging to this organisation. It should be remembered, though, that it is one of two national organisations for women's shelter and thus not reflecting the number of women contacting or living at any shelter in Sweden. Since the shelter is allowing shorter contacts and promising anonymity, the figures, if taken into regard that it is only one of two organisations offering this kind of service, there should be less unrecorded cases than i.e. police reports. The figures might therefor be accurate in terms of showing increase or decrease of cases, although not in terms of exact figures.
Reliability
Good. The lack of systematic quality insuring activities puts this aspect into doubts. But since the financing of the shelters are dependent on the number of shelters provided, and those figures therefor are double checked with the municipality social service figures, they should be reliable.
Timeliness
Limitations. The lack of systematic in registering in the local shelters raises the question how and when the update is done and thereby the timeliness in the figures.

Current developments
There is an ongoing work with improving what figures are asked for and how this is done. The responsible person sees a need of developing a more scientific approach to the data collection but has no resources to do it.
