Quality assurance process
Police officers fill in two forms for the RIPS a Form on Criminal Act and a Form for the Victim and the data. They are manually transferred by operators to the RIPS and finally automatically to the Central Police Database. The RIPS is very developed informational system which is connected to the National Data Base on Personal Data and retrieves automatically personal identical numbers, names and other personal data from it. The system exists since 1989, but it transformed another older system. Storage and protection of data are very reliable and substantial human resource is involved on a regional and national level for maintenance and updating of the system.

There is a plan the RIPS to be included in the future Uniform System on Combatting Criminality, which is still in process of establishment.
