Quality assurance process
Adult victims of IPV ( or family violence in Romanian legislation) or rape or sexual harassment or sexual assault have to file an official complaint with the police or the prosecutor's office; once a complaint is filed, a judicial investigation begins ( police and prosecutor's office); the case is assigned a number an managed through the police and prosecutor's office case management software; the inquire ends with a prosecutor's evaluation of evidence upon which the case is either sent to trial or dismissed; if sent to trial then the file receives a court registration number that can be tracked throughout the system; both court case management software and prosecutor's case management software ( versions of ECRIS) use a series of cross validation procedures where some fields are mandatory; information is compared with other fields and in case it does not add up, the software elicits an error alert;

Generally the recording in the data base of the prosecutor's office is ongoing; administrative personnel enters relevant data from case files on an ongoing basis; minor delays occur sometimes but there is an supervisory structure that ensures data is registered in ECRIS regularly by all prosecutor's offices.
