Quality assurance process
When a domestic violence crime is reported to the police (Public Security Police - PSP or National Republican Guard – GNR) standard notifications on complaints or reports of domestic violence are filled. This standard notification is available through their computer software platform. After that the responsible for each police station validates this report as a domestic violence incident and sends the information to the Directorate-General Internal Affairs computer software tool. This Organism produces the Report with all data related to domestic violence incident.

Timeliness
The information collected by police is sent to the central data base in the Directorate-General Internal Affairs. This happens daily in PSP and monthly in GNR. It is compiled in an annual report.
Current developments
A risk assessment instrument is being developed for the police. This instrument will collect more data information about domestic violence, at the time incidents are being reported to the police.
