EIGE has developed an innovative self-assessment tool that helps collect empirical data to measure the gender sensitivity of national parliaments, in terms of their organisational structures and work processes. Considering a range of key criteria, EIGE's online tool offers a way to asses and monitor gender equality in parliaments over times. We have worked together with a few Parliaments (Estonia, Greece, Slovenia, Canary Islands and Extremadura in Spain) to test it and are now presenting it to wider audiences.

Aiming to introduce our tool to the National Parliaments and provide an opportunity to use it for assessment, we are organising a workshop with representatives of National Parliaments on 6 June 2018, in Vilnius. Participants will discuss issues of concern experienced when collecting data with the tool and highlight ways forward for using the results to advance gender equality in political decision-making.

The tool itself is available in three different versions: NATIONAL and REGIONAL for internal parliamentary use, and an GENERAL version, which is available for all interested users. In the workshop, we will be using the national and regional versions of the tool.

Agenda, the presentation of the tool, as well as the practical information about the workshop are available under the RESOURCES tab.

Photos made during the workshop are available under the PHOTOS tab.

Gender-sensitive parliaments tool will launched on 7 June, during Women Political Leaders Summit 2018. Follow #GenderSensitiveParliaments on Facebook & Twitter for more updates!
