Description

The European Commission is currently in the process of conducting a survey across EU countries to gather data on gender-based violence and other forms of inter-personal violence.  National statistical authorities in  several EU Member States are  unable to gather the data  required for the survey.

To ensure comparable, EU-wide data, EIGE and the EU Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) are collecting data in these countries. The results of the survey will be released in 2024 and will form part of EIGE’s Gender Equality Index that year. This data will help provide key indicators for law and policy at EU and Member State level in 2024.

The  data will also allow for analysis of developments in gender-based violence, building upon the Violence Against Women survey conducted by FRA in 2014.
