Description

The measurement framework provides further opportunities to uncover some of the significant differences within and between groups of women and men. It accounts for several of the most common axes of disadvantage: type of household (with an emphasis on lone parents and couples with children), age, migrant background and disability. It provides the basis for reliable and comparable statistical assessment of intersecting inequalities within the framework of the Gender Equality Index over time (depending on data availability). This can facilitate the monitoring of progress and more effective policy-making ultimately.
