Description

At the request of the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU, EIGE prepared a report on the use of digital technologies to promote gender equality. The report focuses on the social and political participation of young women and men and analyses the gender-related risks of digitalisation for girls and boys.

The research consists of focus groups with girls and boys, together with expert interviews. This qualitative approach allows for an in-depth analysis of gendered practices relating to digital technologies. More specifically, it looks at the opportunities and risks presented by digital technologies to promote gender equality among young people in the EU. The research was carried out in 10 selected Member States.
