Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft kommunaler Frauenbüros und Gleichstellungsstellen (BAG) (Federal Working Group of Municipal Women's Offices and Equality Bodies)

The Working Group assembles competences on gender equality and regional initiatives; it provides information and contacts. It gives political impetus to national politics, responds to impulses emanating from national politics and spreads them to the municipalities. The network of the Working Group maintains a dialogue with associations, institutions, parties, NGOs and relevant societal groups as well as the Federal Government. It comprises ca. 1.900 municipal Women's and Equal Opportunities Commissioners in Germany. The federal administrative office organises the national conferences (22th National Conference in January 2014), organises days of action on specific topics and provides comprehensive information on a multitude of topics. Current key topics are, among others, gender-fairness, labour market and qualification, family types and ways of life, family policy (http://www.frauenbeauftragte.de/).
