The BVP (Bureau de Verification de la Publicité) has implemented a self-regulation process with the advertising business since 2003, when an agreement was signed with the Minister for Parity. As such, it controls Advertising both before and after they are shown.

* Evidence of use in advertising of: excessive nudity, excessively thin women, violence against women, themes of prostitution and pornography, gender stereotyped roles * Women are 42% of journalists, and 60% of those in journalism schools * Women only represent between 3-15% of strategic management posts in the media * The inequalities faced by industry are even worse than in other industries
