Nacionalni program za enake možnosti žensk in moških, 2005-2013
National programme for equal opportunities of women and men 2005-2013
Aims and objectives
National Programme serves to implement gender mainstreaming in Slovenia. Its main objective is to increase gender equality and to include the principle of GM into all policy making, especially into developmental policies.
Results and impact
The National Programme is still on-going and so far resulted in different documents, such as Resolution on the National Programme for Equal Opportunities of Women and Men 2005-2013, which is a main policy for GM in Slovenia. Its implementation is foreseen biannually in Periodical Plans, which are monitored biannually. The Reports on enforcement of Resolution on the National Programme for Equal Opportunities for Women and Men are presented to the National Assembly every two years.
National Assembly of Republic of Slovenia
The content of National Programme is thoroughly described in different documents and considers different social and private settings, where the perspective of gender should be included. The National Programme (and Periodical Plans) also foresees that different stakeholders should be included into activities with the aims of improving gender equality and gender mainstreaming (such as NGOs, different Ministries, governmental services, research institutions...). Cooperation between different ministries, governmental institutions as well as local communities is seen as crucial. Europe Commission, United Nations, European Council are also to be included in the process of GM. Different activities from the perspective of gender are planned to be realised.
