Aims and objectives
The representatives of gender NGOs participating in the Monitoring Committees of the New Hungary Development Plan's Operational Programmes supposed to represent the issue of gender equality and are part of the gender mainstreaming mechanism of the national development policy.
Results and impact
The representatives of gender NGOs have been active members of the Monitoring Committees, successfully representing the issue of gender equality. Nevertheless, they could not be successful in gender mainstreaming the measures and projects of the relevant OPs as their role was limited to monitoring activities.
Managing Authorities and Monitoring Committees of the Operational Programmes
The Council for Gender Equality delegated experts to all Monitoring Committees in 2007. They became full members with voting rights. Usually these members were present at most of the committee sessions and played an active role within them.
Periodicity: The Monitoring Committees have sessions at least two times a year, but in most cases, more often.
