Media monitoring
One of the permanent activities of the Ombudsperson for Gender Equality is to monitor the implementation of legislative provisions related to the promotion of the gender equality principle in the media and advertising. The Ombudsperson monitors media and reacts by giving public statements about sexism in the media contents, conducts analyses of the media content and publishes results in annual reports to the Croatian parliament. The Ombudsperson issues warnings and recommendations to advertising agencies, public bodies, units of local or regional government or other bodies with public authority, employees of such bodies or other legal or natural persons, and promotes gender equality in various public fora emphasizing sexism as an obstacle to achieving gender equality.
