Gender Mainstreaming
EIGE created this online tool on gender mainstreaming to support the staff of the European Commission and the other EU institutions and bodies with the integration of a gender perspective in their work.
The focus of this online tool is on gender. Nonetheless, we do not deny the importance of how other differences like race, ethnicity, age, religion, sexual orientation, disability, health status, etc. might intersect with gender.
This online tool provides insights regarding the gender relevance in a variety of policy areas, along with suggestions on what can practically be done considering daily tasks and responsibilities of EU officials.
This online tool aims at developing EU officials’ competences on gender mainstreaming, throughout the whole policy-cycle (i.e. from designing to evaluating a policy). Making officials aware about how to design, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate policies from a gender perspective will strengthen EU policies, increase their societal relevance and responsiveness.
