I deeply condemn any type of violence against women. Encouraging women to claim their rights and to seek help after having been afflicted with violence is as important as trying to raise the consciousness of potential perpetrators. Sadly, not only murder, rape and machismo but also domestic violence and sexual stereotypes persist in the 21st century. It is important to fight impunity and indifference, and to reflect on the cultural and socio-economic origins of violence against women.
