People who risk persecution due to gender or sexual orientation shall have the possibility to apply for asylum in Sweden. The legislation will be changed (31 March 2006), so that people who are at risk of FGM or honour-related violence, or at risk because they are homosexual, will have a stronger protection with the new phrasing in the legislation.
