Professional Secrecy Provisions
Conditions for disclosing information
According to Art. 13, a patient has the right to secrecy on the part of persons performing medical professions, including these providing health services, with regard to information related to him and obtained in connection with performing medical profession. Hence, individuals performing medical professions are obliged to keep secrecy of information related to the patient and his condition (Art. 14.1). There are, however, exceptional circumstances when provision of Art. 14.1 does not apply. This is, among others, when provisions of other acts state so (Art.14.2.1) or keeping secrecy may be dangerous to the life or health of the patient or other persons (Art. 14.2.2).
