To end up with FGM
Pour en finir avec les mutilations sexuelles féminines
This cycle of conferences was held from 2002 onwards in Paris (2006 in regions) with the participation of the NGOs Groupe pour l'Abolition des Mutilations Sexuelles (GAMS) and Gynecologie sans frontieres, and the support of national and/or regional authorities. These conferences have not only provided regional actors with data and information about FGM, but have also brought together potential stakeholders and veto-players in the areas of health, social care and migrants protection, thus enabling to strengthen regional policy networks. To date, conferences have been held in the Ile-de-France, Pays de la Loire, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, Normandie and Rhones-Alpes regions, thus covering most of the populations of African origins in France. In the Ile-de-France region, these conferences are held annually, around the 6th of February (International day against FGM).
