The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) invites you to participate in the online discussion on “Communicating Gender Equality”.

The paramount importance of this topic is underlined in EIGE’s establishing Regulation where it is stated that: EIGE’s objective is to contribute to and strengthen the promotion of gender equality,(...), and to raise EU citizens' awareness of gender equality by providing technical assistance to the Community institutions, in particular the Commission, and the authorities of the Member States.

As a newly established agency, in 2011 EIGE has adopted a Communication Strategy that was fulfilling on this objective at that moment in time. Meanwhile, having already a clear set of products and services for all gender equality stakeholders, and beyond, for all European citizens, EIGE aims at revising its Communication Strategy.

Therefore we invite EIGE stakeholders to bring forward ideas on how to contribute to and strengthen the promotion of gender equality using media and non-stereotypical portrayal of women and men. The online discussion will also focus on EIGE’s current communication strategy 2013 – 2015. We will present its target groups, tools and messages and, ask the participants to provide feedback on the implementation of Communication Strategy 2013 – 2015 and develop ideas for the follow up Communication Strategy 2016 - 2018.
