The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) invites you to participate in the online discussion “The Beijing Platform for Action Twenty Years On: Future Perspectives”.

The online discussion will explore the potential and pitfalls in the current moment of review. It will focus specifically on the areas of violence against women; women in power and decision-making including a focus on the fields of the media and the environment; institutional mechanisms for the advancement of women; and gender mainstreaming.

This online event aims to introduce the work of EIGE in these areas and to stimulate debate on how best to advance the recommendations being brought forward and on how to counter sources of resistance likely to be encountered. It will introduce the conclusions and recommendations prepared by EIGE’s team in the announced areas of work and will contribute to the dissemination of this work.

It is part of a broader project carried out by EIGE to support the current Italian Presidency of the Council of the EU for the review of progress on the twelves critical areas of concern in the Beijing Platform for Action.
