Il primo modulo del webinar si propone di investigare le criticità legate alle “dinamiche fra i sessi” nel mondo dello sport. Vi sono ambiti dello sport professionistico nei quali la notorietà ed il denaro, unitamente ad una insoddisfacente cultura del rispetto nel rapporto fra i generi, costituiscono un insieme deflagrante.

Partendo da alcune controverse vicende giudiziarie di grande risonanza sui media, parleremo della rappresentazione che viene ad assumere nell’immaginario collettivo la figura dello sportivo professionista, in genere maschio, in ambiti molto popolari (calcio, boxe ecc.), il quale, secondo gli studiosi del fenomeno, può sentirsi ingiustificatamente titolare di un “diritto alla seduzione attiva” verso l’altro sesso, anche a prescindere dalla manifestazione del consenso da parte dell’interessata/o.

Il fenomeno si è tradotto, a livello globale, in frequenti casi di sportivi, anche al massimo livello, coinvolti in casi di abusi sessuali reali o presunti. Per contro ci sono stati positivi interventi di formazione e sensibilizzazione a cura degli organi dirigenti delle società sportive, rivolti soprattutto alle giovani leve, per prevenire questa criticità. A ciò si affianca l’emersione del fenomeno delle molestie sessuali e degli abusi nell’ambito della pratica sportiva, oggetto in tempi recenti di una decisa presa di posizione da parte delle associazioni delle atlete, attraverso protocolli e campagne informative.

Inoltre, con allarmante frequenza incontriamo, nei media e sui social networks, manifestazioni di consenso verso queste deprecabili condotte, tanto da far ritenere da parte di alcuni studiosi l’esistenza di una “rape culture”, una vera e propria “cultura dello stupro”, accanto ad una visione stereotipata e sessista delle varie discipline ed un approccio distorto e discriminatorio ai temi dell’identità di genere e dell’orientamento sessuale nello sport. Sicuramente siamo di fronte ad una cultura sessista, sulla quale né il mondo dello sport nè quello dei media si interrogano a sufficienza.

Anche l’approccio al tema degli operatori della giustizia non è immune da criticità. Anche in questi casi infatti, quando vengono portati in giudizio, si ripropongono le problematiche tipiche che incontriamo di solito nella trattazione processuale della violenza di genere, nella quale frequentemente la vittima di tali condotte è doppiamente tale, perché viene trattata secondo una visione pregiudiziale e stereotipata, rispetto ai temi cruciali della prova del consenso e delle indagini sulla vita personale della vittima stessa. Un approccio inaccettabile, che neppure il movimento internazionale #MeToo è riuscita a scalfire del tutto.

The first module of the webinar aims to investigate the critical issues related to the "dynamics between the sexes" in the world of sport. There are areas of professional sport in which notoriety and money, together with an unsatisfactory culture of respect in the relationship between genders, constitute an explosive whole.

Starting from some controversial legal events of great resonance in the media, we will talk about the representation that comes to assume in the collective imagination the figure of the professional sportsman, generally male, in very popular fields (football, boxing etc.), which, according to the scholars of the phenomenon, may feel unjustifiably the holder of a "right to active seduction" towards the other sex, even regardless of the manifestation of consent by the interested party.

The phenomenon has resulted, on a global level, in frequent cases of sportsmen, even at the highest level, involved in cases of real or alleged sexual abuse. On the other hand, there were positive training and awareness-raising interventions by the management bodies of the sports clubs, aimed above all at young recruits, to prevent this criticality. This is accompanied by the emergence of the phenomenon of sexual harassment and abuse in the field of sports, which has recently been the subject of a strong stance by the athletes' associations, through protocols and information campaigns.

Furthermore, with the alarming frequency, we encounter, in the media and on social networks, manifestations of consent towards these deplorable behaviors, so much so that some scholars believe the existence of a "rape culture", a real "culture of rape", alongside a stereotyped and sexist vision of the various disciplines and a distorted and discriminatory approach to the issues of gender identity and sexual orientation in sport. We are certainly facing a sexist culture, about which neither the world of sport nor that of the media question itself sufficiently.

Even the approach to the issue of legal practitioners is not immune to critical issues. In fact, even in these cases, when they are brought to trial, the typical problems that we usually encounter in the procedural treatment of gender-based violence arise, in which frequently the victim of such conduct is doubly so because it is treated according to a prejudicial and stereotyped vision, with respect to the crucial issues of proof of consent and investigations into the victim's personal life. An unacceptable approach, which not even the international #MeToo movement has managed to completely dent.
