The aim of the 1st meeting of the EU Gender Equality Index (EU GEI) Working Group is to
- present the main findings of EIGE’s study on the development of the basic structure of the EU Gender Equality Index launched in 2010 and
- to agree on the working plan on the development of a composite indicator on gender equality at the European Union level.
So far the dimensions that have been identified in the EU GEI are:
- Equal economic independence
- Equal pay for equal work and work of equal value
- Equality in decision-making
- Equal share of knowledge
- Equal share of unpaid time
