The gender dimension in the Europe 2020 Strategy
The Europe 2020 Strategy sets out a number of new goals in terms of employment, innovation, education, social inclusion, climate and energy. Yet when it comes to achieving the targets set out in the Europe 2020 Strategy, the starting points of men and women are quite different. On Friday 22 March 2013, the EESC will be presenting its own-initiative opinion on "The gender dimension in the Europe 2020 Strategy" and will be discussing the following questions:
- How is the gender dimension taken into account when implementing the various strands of the Europe 2020 Strategy?
- How can the Europe 2020 Strategy be linked more closely to the Strategy for Equality between men and women?
- What specific adjustments should be made to ensure that the EU fully embraces the aim of gender equality in education, training, labour, careers, pay, work-life balance and decision-making?
