Thematic Network on Gender Mainstreaming
Initially established during the first years of EIGE’s existence, the Thematic Network was relaunched in 2019. The renewal of the Thematic Network provided an opportunity for the members to meet on two occasions: in February 2019 to set the basis of future cooperation, and in November 2019 for Power Up for more Gender Equality and Gender Mainstreaming (discussion of the preliminary results of EIGE’s 2019 study on institutional mechanisms).
This year Thematic Network Meeting will focus on the adjustments to the conceptual and measurement framework of the Institutional Mechanisms for gender equality and gender mainstreaming.
The overall objective of EIGE’s Thematic Network on Gender Mainstreaming is to contribute to a more effective and sustainable design and implementation of gender mainstreaming strategies and initiatives to allow and foster real progress in gender equality in the EU and its Member States.
Envisioned as a forum for exchange of up-to-date knowledge on the existing programmes, projects, methods and tools of gender mainstreaming, as well as presentation of good practices in the Member States, the Thematic Network brings together gender mainstreaming and gender equality practitioners and experts from the national gender equality machineries across the EU.
