Journalist Thematic Network meeting, 30 September - 1 October 2019, Helsinki

This meeting involves journalists from around the European Union.

The first day, participants will attend a high level conference of the Finnish Presidency of the Council of the European Union ‘Europe for Gender Equality? Taking stock – taking action’. The second half day will focus on EIGE’s upcoming work and resources, as well as the results of its study in relation to Beijing +25.

The meeting aims to:

• present EIGE’s research and findings which can be used by JTN members to write articles about gender equality in their news outlets;
• provide an opportunity for JTN members to interview experts/politicians on selected topics, thus gaining extra insight for their articles;
• provide journalists with resources and materials and present EIGE’s tools they can use when writing about gender equality;
• strengthen the network and generate renewed media interest about gender equality.
