On the occasion of its Grand Opening events, EIGE held a Management Board meeting for the first time in its new format.

The new group is made-up of 19 members chosen from a rotating Member State arrangement guaranteeing membership for all countries over a three year period plus a member from the European Commission. Participants met in Vilnius between and were chaired by the European Commission (Ms Daniela Bankier who replaced Ms Belinda Pyke).

During the meeting, members re-elected Ms Eva Maria Welskop-Deffaa (Germany) as Chair and Mr Michel Pasteel (Belgium) as Vice Chair in their second consecutive mandates. The new Management Board draws-in 9 new board members - replacing those from the previous mandate. A noteworthy outcome from this meeting comprises the establishment of a new Beijing Indicators working group. 2 further meetings are envisaged for 2010 (dates TBC).
