On 20 and 21 September EIGE is bringing together experts from the EU Member States in Vilnius to participate in the 4th meeting of the Thematic Network on Gender Mainstreaming.

The Thematic Network of Gender Mainstreaming was established in 2010 to enhance capacity of the Institute in developing its Gender Mainstreaming (GM) agenda and support positive developments in the implementation of GM policies in the Member States (MS).

Since the beginning of 2012 EIGE’s work is giving priority to gender training (GT) as a tool for gender mainstreaming. The meeting will give the opportunity for the participating experts from the MS and EIGE

  • to present and discuss the scope and outreach of the project on GT;
  • to exchange views on ways to foster discussions on quality and effectiveness for gender training and
  • to discuss forthcoming activities within the GT project.

Further information will be shared and discussions enabled in regard to EIGE’s work on institutional mechanisms for gender mainstreaming and the future EIGE’s online platform / EuroGender: the European network on gender equality based on the active contribution of the existing Networks and experts’ groups.
