Description

The increasing reach of the internet, use of social media platforms and rapid spread of mobile information has made cyber violence against women a growing global problem. However, there is currently no agreed definition of cyber violence against women at EU level and only a few Member States cover some forms of cyber violence against women in their national law.

EIGE is assessing all available data, policies, research and statistical and legal definitions related to cyber violence across all EU Member States.

The long-term goal of the study is the regular collection of reliable and comparable data on cyber violence against women in the EU, which should result in better informed, evidence-based policymaking on cyber violence.

The study will be published in 2022.
