This document, elaborated following the governmental notice of the 12th of September, 2011, adopts a dual approach, grounded at once into the concept of gender mainstreaming, and the principle of specific gender equality approach. It aims at mobilizing all the services of the state at the regional level in favour of gender mainstreaming, with the full participation of a variety of actors. It is articulated around two main priorities: promoting women's participation to the economic, professional, social and political life (1), and promoting women's rights and fighting gender-based violence (2). A complex diagnosis, as well as a comprehensive assessment of past measures in favour of GE at the regional level, are complemented by the articulation of fully fledged measures aimed to attain 12 strategic objectives. This 246p. long document indicates, for each objective, a series of measures and corresponding financial and human ressources. It implementation is monitored as part of the EU-funded PROGRESS program (through the PROGRE program carried out by the General Directorate for Social Inclusion, at the central-State level.
