Aims and objectives
The aim of the Action Plan is to set specific actions in order to promote gender equality and gender mainstreaming through Ministries, NGO's, the Civil Society and other organisations.
Results and impact
According to the Interim Evaluation Report of the implementation progress of the National Action Plan on Gender Equality (2010) 22 out of 66 actions of the National strategy plan were completed in 2010, 21 actions are on-going towards completion and 23 will not be completed by 2013.
National Machinery for Women's Rights, Ministry of Justice and Public Order
The National Action Plan on Equality between Men and Women, includes 66 separate actions under the six main thematic units, namely promoting equality in employment and education, in research and innovation, in the representation in the social, political and economic sphere, combating violence against women including trafficking, promoting equal application of social rights and altering gender stereotypes.
Evaluation: The Plan was evaluated in 2010 by an external evaluator, the Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies. The results were published in the Interim Evaluation Report of the implementation progress of the National Action Plan on Gender Equality.
